Division Resurgence: Best Way to Farm T2 Gear

The best way to farm Tier 2 (T2) gear in The Division Resurgence is to run the highest-difficulty control points and main missions you can comfortably complete, then spend the Fabric and other materials you earn on targeted gear caches at the crafting bench. This method gives you a steady stream of T2 items plus the resources to fill specific slots, rather than relying on random drops from open-world enemies.

Formula

The calculator above works out your average pace and speed for a run or ride. You enter the total time in minutes and the distance in kilometers. The first output, average pace, is the number of minutes it takes you to cover one kilometer (min/km). The second output, average speed, is the distance you cover in one hour (km/h).

Pace = Total time (minutes) ÷ Distance (km)
Speed = Distance (km) ÷ (Total time (minutes) ÷ 60)

Variables:
• t = total time in minutes
• d = distance in kilometers
• pace = minutes per kilometer
• speed = kilometers per hour

Worked Example

Suppose you run 10 km in 50 minutes. Using the default values from the calculator:

  1. Pace = 50 ÷ 10 = 5.0 min/km
  2. Speed = 10 ÷ (50 ÷ 60) = 10 ÷ 0.8333 = 12.0 km/h

The calculator shows a pace of 5:00 min/km and a speed of 12.0 km/h. That means you are covering each kilometer in five minutes, which is a common tempo for a recreational runner.

Why T2 Gear Matters

Tier 2 is the second world tier in The Division Resurgence, unlocked after you finish the main campaign and reach level 30. It introduces gear score 150–199 items, which are noticeably stronger than the purple and gold items you collected while leveling. T2 gear is a stepping stone: it lets you tackle challenging missions and control points that drop T3 materials, so farming efficiently here shortens the grind to the next tier.

Many players make the mistake of trying to jump straight to T3 by equipping any high-score item they find. That works for a while, but you end up with a mismatched build that deals little damage and dies quickly. A focused T2 farm gives you a coherent set of gear with the right attributes and talents, which makes the T3 transition much smoother.

How the World Tier System Works

When you first enter T2, the world is set to a base difficulty with enemies at gear score 150. You can increase the world difficulty to Hard or Challenging from the map screen, which raises enemy gear score and improves drop quality. The key mechanic is that higher difficulty gives you a better chance of dropping gear at the top of the tier (gear score 199) and also drops more crafting materials.

Control points are the backbone of the farming loop. Capturing a control point at Hard difficulty gives you a guaranteed gear drop plus a small cache of materials. At Challenging, the cache is larger and the gear is more likely to be at the high end of the tier. You can repeat control points by letting the enemy faction recapture them, which happens after a few minutes or when you leave the area.

Best Farming Routes and Activities

The most efficient T2 farm combines three activities in a loop:

  • Control points – Capture them on Challenging difficulty. They drop gear, materials, and blueprints. After capturing, fast-travel away and come back later to recapture.
  • Main missions – Run the Lincoln Memorial or other short missions on Hard. They take about 10 minutes and guarantee a named boss drop at the end.
  • Open-world events – Public executions and propaganda broadcasts spawn frequently. They take under two minutes and drop a small amount of gear and materials.

A typical loop: start at a control point, capture it, then do two open-world events nearby, then fast-travel to a mission, run it, and repeat. This keeps you moving and avoids the boredom of repeating the same mission over and over.

Another important activity is the Dark Zone. In T2, the Dark Zone has enemies at gear score 170–190, and contaminated gear drops are often better than what you find in the open world. You need to extract the gear to keep it, which adds risk but also gives a chance at high-score items with rare talents. If you are comfortable with PvP, a few extractions can accelerate your T2 progress significantly.

How to Choose Which Gear to Keep

Not all T2 gear is worth keeping. Gear score is only a rough indicator of power; the attributes and talents matter more. When comparing two items of the same slot, look at the following:

  • Primary attribute – Weapon damage on masks and chests, armor on vests and backpacks, skill power on holsters and kneepads.
  • Secondary attributes – Critical hit chance, critical hit damage, headshot damage, skill haste, and so on. Choose the ones that match your build.
  • Talent – Some talents are build-defining, like “Strainedâ€ for crit builds or “Skilledâ€ for skill builds. A lower gear score item with the right talent is often better than a higher one without it.

A good rule of thumb is to keep any item that has at least two attributes that fit your build, even if its gear score is 10–15 points lower. You can always recalibrate one attribute at the crafting bench, but you cannot change the talent.

Using the Crafting Bench

The crafting bench in the Base of Operations lets you turn materials into specific gear slots. This is the most reliable way to fill a missing piece. For example, if you have great gloves but a weak mask, you can craft a mask with the attribute you need.

To craft T2 gear, you need Fabric, which comes from deconstructing unwanted gear, and other materials like Ceramics and Electronics that drop from open-world loot boxes and enemies. The cost per item is roughly 20–30 Fabric plus 10–15 of the secondary material. You can also craft gear caches that give a random item of a specific type (e.g., a backpack cache) for a higher cost.

One tip: always deconstruct gear you don’t need instead of selling it. Credits are easy to come by, but Fabric is the bottleneck for crafting. Also, check the daily projects from the Quartermaster – they often reward a gear cache or a large pile of materials.

Common Mistakes and Misconceptions

A frequent mistake is farming on too high a difficulty too early. If you die repeatedly, you are better off dropping to Hard until your build is solid. The time lost to deaths outweighs the slightly better drop chances.

Another misconception is that gear score is the only thing that matters. A player with a coordinated 180 build will outperform someone wearing random 199 pieces. Focus on synergy, not just numbers.

Also, many players ignore the daily and weekly projects. These are the most time-efficient source of high-end materials and gear caches. Doing them every day gives you a steady trickle of T2 items that supplements your farming.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to farm a full set of T2 gear?

With a focused approach, you can get a decent set of 180+ gear in about 4–6 hours of play. A perfect set with ideal talents and attributes might take 10–15 hours, depending on luck. The crafting bench helps fill gaps quickly, so you don’t have to rely purely on drops.

Should I farm in a group or solo?

Group play is faster because enemies scale but drop more loot per player. If you have a coordinated team, you can clear missions and control points in half the time. Solo is more predictable and you keep all the loot, but it is slower. Both are viable; choose based on your preference.

Is the Dark Zone worth it for T2 gear?

Yes, but only if you are comfortable with the risk. Contaminated gear often has higher scores and rare talents, and extraction gives bonus XP. However, you can lose everything to rogue agents. If you are not a PvP fan, stick to the open world.

What is the best skill build for T2 farming?

For pure farming speed, a skill build with a turret and a drone is strong because they deal damage while you stay in cover. Pair them with the “Skilled talent to reset cooldowns quickly. This lets you clear groups without exposing yourself, which is safer on Challenging difficulty.

Can I get T3 gear while still in T2?

No. T3 gear only drops after you reach world tier 3, which requires completing the T2 stronghold. You can, however, stockpile materials and blueprints in T2 so you can craft T3 gear immediately after upgrading.
