Super Mario Bros. Wonder: How Many Players?

Super Mario Bros. Wonder supports up to 4 players locally in cooperative multiplayer. You can play with friends and family on the same Nintendo Switch console, each using a Joy-Con controller, a Pro Controller, or a combination of both.

Formula

The calculator above works out your average pace and speed for a run or ride. The formulas are:

  • Pace = Finish time (minutes) ÷ Distance (km) — result in minutes per kilometre.
  • Speed = Distance (km) ÷ (Finish time (minutes) ÷ 60) — result in kilometres per hour.

Where:

  • t = finish time in minutes
  • d = distance in kilometres

If you prefer miles, convert distance to kilometres first (1 mile = 1.60934 km) or use the same formula with miles and you’ll get pace in min/mile and speed in miles per hour.

Worked Example

Using the default values from the calculator: finish time = 50 minutes, distance = 10 km.

  1. Pace = 50 ÷ 10 = 5.00 min/km
  2. Speed = 10 ÷ (50 ÷ 60) = 10 ÷ 0.8333 = 12.00 km/h

The calculator shows the same results: a pace of 5:00 per kilometre and a speed of 12 km/h.

Why Use This Calculator

Runners, cyclists, and walkers often want to know their average pace or speed for a training session or race. This calculator gives you a quick, accurate number without needing to do the math by hand. It’s useful for:

  • Planning a training pace for a target race time.
  • Comparing your performance across different routes or days.
  • Setting realistic goals based on past workouts.

How to Read the Results

The pace output tells you how many minutes (and seconds) it takes you to cover one kilometre. A lower pace number means faster running. The speed output tells you how many kilometres you cover in one hour. For example, a pace of 5:00 min/km corresponds to 12 km/h. If you run on a treadmill, the speed setting is usually in km/h or mph, so you can match your outdoor pace directly.

Common Mistakes

  • Mixing units: If you enter distance in miles but time in minutes, the pace will be in min/mile, not min/km. Be consistent.
  • Forgetting to convert seconds: If your finish time is 1:23:45 (1 hour, 23 minutes, 45 seconds), convert to minutes: 60 + 23 + (45/60) = 83.75 minutes.
  • Rounding too early: Round only at the final step to avoid small errors.

Limitations of the Formula

The formula assumes a constant speed. In real life, your pace varies with terrain, wind, and fatigue. For a hilly route, your average pace will be slower than on a flat course even if you push equally hard. The calculator gives a simple average, not a measure of effort or intensity.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert my pace to miles per hour?

If you have pace in min/km, first convert to min/mile (multiply by 1.60934), then divide 60 by that number. For example, 5:00 min/km = 8:03 min/mile, so speed = 60 ÷ 8.05 ≈ 7.45 mph.

What is a good running pace for a beginner?

It varies by age, fitness, and experience. A common conversational pace for a beginner is around 7:00–8:00 min/km (11–13 min/mile). Focus on being able to talk while running rather than hitting a specific number.

Can I use this calculator for walking?

Yes. Enter your walking time and distance, and you’ll get your walking pace and speed. Typical walking pace is 10–12 min/km (15–20 min/mile).

How do I calculate pace for a marathon?

Enter the marathon distance (42.195 km) and your target finish time in minutes. For example, 3:30:00 = 210 minutes, so pace = 210 ÷ 42.195 ≈ 4:58 min/km.

Why does my watch show a different pace?

Most GPS watches use real-time pace based on your current speed, which fluctuates. The average pace over the whole run is what this calculator computes. Watch averages may also exclude pauses if you stop the timer.
