Palworld Level Map: Every Area's Recommended Level

This article gives you the recommended level ranges for every major area in Palworld’s 1.0 map, so you know where to go and what to avoid at each stage of the game. You’ll find a breakdown by region, from the beginner-friendly Plateau of Beginnings to the endgame volcanic and snowy zones, plus tips on how to use this information to plan your exploration.

Formula

The calculator above works out your average pace and speed for a run or ride. The formula for pace is:

Pace = Total Time (minutes) ÷ Distance (km)

And for speed:

Speed = Distance (km) ÷ (Total Time (minutes) ÷ 60)

Where:

  • Total Time is the time it took to cover the distance, in minutes.
  • Distance is the length of the route, in kilometers.
  • Pace is the number of minutes it takes to cover one kilometer (min/km).
  • Speed is the average velocity in kilometers per hour (km/h).

Worked Example

Using the default values from the calculator (50 minutes for 10 km):

  1. Pace = 50 min ÷ 10 km = 5.0 min/km
  2. Speed = 10 km ÷ (50 min ÷ 60) = 10 km ÷ 0.8333 h = 12.0 km/h

So a 10 km route finished in 50 minutes means an average pace of 5 minutes per kilometer and an average speed of 12 km/h.

When to Use This Calculator

Use this tool whenever you want to know your average pace for a run, bike ride, hike, or any other distance-based activity. It’s especially handy for training plans that specify target paces (e.g., “run 5 km at 6 min/km) or for comparing two different workouts. You can also use it to estimate how long a future trip will take if you know your usual speed.

How to Read the Result

The first output, Average pace, is the headline number. A lower pace means you are faster (fewer minutes per kilometer). The Average speed is a more intuitive number for many people – higher is faster. Both are useful, but pace is the standard in running and walking, while speed is more common for cycling and driving.

Common Mistakes

  • Mixing units: If you measure distance in miles, convert to kilometers first (1 mile = 1.60934 km) or the pace will be wrong.
  • Using seconds: The calculator expects minutes. If you have 50 minutes and 30 seconds, enter 50.5, not 50.30.
  • Forgetting to convert hours: Speed is km/h, so if you run 10 km in 2 hours, that’s 120 minutes, not 2.

Limitations of the Formula

This is a simple average calculation. It does not account for elevation gain, terrain, stops, or wind. Your actual pace will vary throughout the activity. For interval training or hilly routes, the average is still useful but doesn’t show how your pace changed over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a good average pace for a beginner runner?

For a beginner, a pace of 7 to 9 minutes per kilometer (roughly 6.5 to 8.5 km/h) is common. It’s more important to be able to hold a conversation than to hit a specific number. As you train, your pace will naturally improve.

How do I convert my pace from min/km to min/mile?

To convert min/km to min/mile, multiply the pace by 1.60934. For example, 5 min/km × 1.60934 = 8.05 min/mile. You can also use the calculator by entering your distance in miles and then converting the result, but the direct multiplication is simpler.

Can I use this for walking as well?

Yes, absolutely. The formula works for any distance-based activity. A typical walking pace is around 12 to 15 min/km (4 to 5 km/h). Just enter your walking time and distance.

Why does the speed output sometimes show a different number than I calculated manually?

The calculator rounds the pace to two decimals, but the speed is calculated from the unrounded inputs. So if you round the pace first and then compute speed, you might get a slightly different result. The calculator does the math correctly from the raw numbers.

What if I want to know my pace for a marathon (42.195 km)?

Enter 42.195 as the distance and your total finish time in minutes. The calculator will give you your average pace per kilometer, which is the standard way marathoners track their goal pace. For example, a 4-hour marathon is 240 minutes, so pace = 240 ÷ 42.195 ≈ 5.69 min/km.
