Honkai Star Rail Jade Build Guide

This guide explains how to build Jade in Honkai: Star Rail, covering her best light cones, relics, ornaments, stats, and team compositions. You’ll learn what makes her a unique follow-up attack DPS and how to maximize her damage in both single-target and multi-target scenarios.

Who Is Jade?

Jade is a 5-star Quantum character following the Erudition path, introduced in Version 2.3. She is a hypercarry who relies on follow-up attacks triggered by her Debt Collector mechanic. Her kit revolves around marking an ally (or herself) as the Debt Collector; whenever that ally attacks, Jade launches a follow-up attack that deals Quantum damage to all enemies. Her damage scales with the number of enemies on the field, making her exceptionally strong in Pure Fiction and against waves of mobs, but weaker against single bosses.

How Jade’s Kit Works

Jade’s core mechanic is the Debt Collector. Her Skill marks one ally (or herself) as the Debt Collector, and that ally’s attacks trigger Jade’s follow-up attack. Her Talent increases her SPD and CRIT DMG as she accumulates charges from these follow-ups. Her Ultimate deals Quantum damage to all enemies and, if the Debt Collector is an ally, increases their SPD. Her Technique allows her to enter a state where her first attack in battle triggers a follow-up immediately.

  • Skill: Marks a target as Debt Collector (can be herself). The marked ally’s attacks trigger Jade’s follow-up.
  • Talent: Each follow-up attack grants a stack of Charge, up to 30. Each stack gives a small SPD boost, and at max stacks, grants CRIT DMG.
  • Ultimate: Deals Quantum damage to all enemies. If the Debt Collector is an ally, also increases their SPD for a few turns.
  • Technique: At the start of battle, immediately triggers a follow-up attack on a random enemy.

Best Light Cones for Jade

Jade’s best light cone is her signature, Yet Hope Is Priceless, which provides CRIT DMG, increases follow-up attack damage, and grants an ATK buff when allies attack. However, several other options work well depending on your budget.

  • Yet Hope Is Priceless (5-star, signature): Her best-in-slot. Provides CRIT DMG, follow-up damage bonus, and an ATK buff that accumulates.
  • Before Dawn (5-star, standard): A strong alternative. Provides CRIT DMG and increases follow-up attack damage, but its other effects (Skill and Ultimate damage) are wasted on Jade.
  • Night on the Milky Way (5-star, standard): Good for Pure Fiction where there are many enemies. Provides ATK% and a damage boost when enemies are broken.
  • Today Is Another Peaceful Day (4-star battle pass): A solid free-to-play option. Increases damage based on max energy, which Jade has a high cap.
  • The Birth of the Self (4-star): A decent free-to-play option that increases follow-up attack damage, but only for enemies below 50% HP.

Relics and Ornaments

Jade’s best relic set is the 4-piece Grand Duke of the Deep (from the Folly of the Dead cavern). This set increases follow-up attack damage and stacks ATK% whenever a follow-up attack hits, which Jade does constantly.

For ornaments, the 2-piece Inert Salsotto is generally her best choice, as it increases CRIT Rate and follow-up attack damage when CRIT Rate is 50% or higher. Alternatively, Space Sealing Station can be used if you need more ATK% and have enough SPD (120+).

Stat Priorities

Jade’s stat priorities are straightforward for a DPS character. Focus on the following:

  1. CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG: Aim for a 1:2 ratio, with at least 70% CRIT Rate to trigger Salsotto’s effect.
  2. ATK%: Jade’s damage scales heavily with ATK, so stack it on substats.
  3. SPD: Jade wants to be fast to build charges and trigger more follow-ups. Aim for 134+ SPD to get extra turns in the first cycles.
  4. Quantum DMG Bonus: Use a Quantum DMG orb.
  5. Energy Regen: Not a priority, but a bit of ER can help her Ultimate come up faster.

Team Compositions

Jade works best with allies who attack frequently, as they trigger her follow-up. She also benefits from having a second Erudition character to maximize her passive that gives her a damage boost when there are two Erudition characters in the team.

  • Hypercarry with Support: Jade + Tingyun (ATK buff) + Bronya (SPD/damage buff) + Huohuo (healer/energy).
  • Dual Erudition: Jade + Himeko (or Serval) + Ruan Mei (break support) + Fu Xuan (sustainer). This is excellent for Pure Fiction.
  • F2P Team: Jade + Serval + Asta (SPD buff) + Natasha (healer).

Common Mistakes and Misconceptions

One common mistake is building Jade for single-target boss fights. Her damage is heavily reduced against a single enemy, so she is not ideal for Simulated Universe bosses or Memory of Chaos floors with only one elite. Another mistake is neglecting her Debt Collector mechanic; you must always have a Debt Collector active, and it’s often better to mark a fast ally (like a support) rather than Jade herself, to trigger more follow-ups.

A frequent misconception is that Jade needs ATK% boots. In most cases, SPD boots are superior because they allow her to build charges faster and trigger more follow-ups, which overall increases her DPS.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Jade worth pulling?

Jade is a strong unit for Pure Fiction and content with multiple enemies, but she falls short in single-target scenarios. If you lack an Erudition character for Pure Fiction, she is a great investment. If you only care about Memory of Chaos, other DPS characters may serve you better.

What is Jade’s best relic set?

The 4-piece Grand Duke of the Deep is her best relic set, as it directly boosts follow-up attack damage. If you don’t have it, a mix of 2-piece ATK% sets can work as a placeholder.

Should Jade be the Debt Collector herself?

It depends on your team. If you have a fast support like Asta or Tingyun, marking them is often better because they attack frequently and trigger more follow-ups. Marking Jade herself is fine if you have no other fast attackers.

Does Jade work with Topaz?

Yes, Topaz is a great partner for Jade. Topaz’s follow-up attacks trigger Jade’s Debt Collector effect, and both benefit from a follow-up-focused team. They work especially well together in dual-DPS compositions.

What main stats should Jade’s relics have?

Body: CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG. Feet: SPD. Orb: Quantum DMG. Rope: ATK% (or Energy Regen if you find her Ultimate too slow). Aim for SPD substats to reach 134+.

Is Jade good at E0?

Yes, Jade is fully functional at E0. Her Eidolons (especially E1 and E2) provide significant damage boosts, but they are not necessary to make her work. She performs well with the right build and team.
