Greedy Growers Seed List: Rarity & Spawn Chances

This page explains the seed list in Greedy Growers, covering every seed’s rarity tier and spawn chance, and how those odds work in practice. You enter nothing—this is a reference guide, not a calculator—and you get the full breakdown of each seed’s drop rates, plus how to read those numbers when you’re farming for a specific plant.

How Seed Rarity Works in Greedy Growers

Greedy Growers assigns each seed a rarity tier—Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary—and each tier has a base spawn chance when you open a seed pack or find a seed in the wild. The game does not publish exact percentages in its UI, so the numbers below come from community testing and data mining of the game’s code. The general distribution is:

  • Common: ~60% of all seed drops
  • Uncommon: ~25%
  • Rare: ~10%
  • Epic: ~4%
  • Legendary: ~1%

These are approximate and can shift slightly with special events or when you use a Lucky Charm (a consumable that boosts rare drop rates). The game’s random number generator picks a tier first, then picks a specific seed from that tier’s pool, so two seeds in the same rarity tier have equal individual chances.

Complete Seed List with Rarity and Spawn Chance

Here is the full seed list as of the latest game update. Each seed’s spawn chance is its individual chance per drop, calculated by dividing the tier’s total chance by the number of seeds in that tier.

  • Common (60% total, ~6% each): Carrot, Potato, Wheat, Sunflower, Tomato, Corn, Onion, Garlic, Beetroot, Pumpkin
  • Uncommon (25% total, ~5% each): Strawberry, Blueberry, Pepper, Cucumber, Lettuce, Radish, Spinach, Kale
  • Rare (10% total, ~2% each): Watermelon, Pineapple, Avocado, Mango, Coconut, Dragonfruit, Kiwi, Fig, Pomegranate, Starfruit
  • Epic (4% total, ~0.8% each): Golden Carrot, Diamond Potato, Cosmic Wheat, Lunar Tomato, Enchanted Pumpkin
  • Legendary (1% total, ~0.2% each): Rainbow Berry, Void Melon, Phoenix Pepper, Eternal Sunflower, Galaxy Corn

Note that event-exclusive seeds (like the Halloween Ghost Pepper or Christmas Snowberry) are not in the standard pool—they only drop during their limited-time events and have their own separate spawn rates, usually around 5% during the event.

How Spawn Chance Is Calculated

The game uses a two-step process for each seed drop. First, it rolls for the rarity tier using the percentages above. Second, it rolls uniformly within that tier to pick which seed you get. So the individual spawn chance for a specific seed is:

(Tier chance) ÷ (Number of seeds in that tier)

For example, with 10 Common seeds and a 60% tier chance, each Common seed has a 6% chance per drop. With 5 Legendary seeds and a 1% tier chance, each Legendary seed has a 0.2% chance—that’s 1 in 500 drops.

If you use a Lucky Charm, the game multiplies the tier chances by a factor (typically 1.5x for Rare and above), but it does not change the number of seeds in each tier. So the individual odds for Epic and Legendary seeds roughly double, but the relative rarity within the tier stays the same.

How to Read the Spawn Chance Numbers

When you see a spawn chance like 0.2%, it means that if you open 100 seed packs, you’d expect to get that seed about 0.2 times—so you’d need about 500 packs to average one copy. But random chance doesn’t work like a guarantee; you could get it on your first pack or not see it after 1,000 packs. The chance of getting at least one copy after N drops is:

1 – (1 – p)^N

where p is the individual spawn chance (as a decimal). For a 0.2% seed, after 100 drops you have about an 18% chance of having seen it; after 500 drops, about 63%; after 1,000 drops, about 86%.

Common Mistakes and Misconceptions

  • Mistaking tier chance for individual chance: Many players see “Legendary 1%” and think every Legendary seed has a 1% chance. But that 1% is split across all Legendary seeds, so each one is much rarer.
  • Assuming event seeds stay: Event seeds like the Ghost Pepper are removed from the pool after the event ends, so their spawn chance drops to 0% outside of the event period.
  • Overestimating Lucky Charms: A Lucky Charm does not guarantee a rare seed; it only multiplies the odds. The game still uses the same random roll, so you can still get Common seeds even with a charm active.
  • Forgetting the pity system: Some versions of the game have a pity counter—after a certain number of drops without a Legendary, the game guarantees one. This counter resets when you get a Legendary, and it is separate for each seed type (e.g., from packs vs. from farming).

How to Choose Which Seeds to Farm

If you’re trying to complete your collection, focus on the rarest seeds first, because they take the most time. If you’re after a specific plant for its profit value, check the market price of the crop—sometimes a Common seed like Pumpkin is worth more than a Rare seed because it grows faster and has higher demand. A good strategy is:

  1. List the seeds you need by rarity (Epic and Legendary first).
  2. Check the current market price for each crop (the game’s auction house shows live prices).
  3. Farm the seed that gives the best profit per hour, not just the rarest one.
  4. Use Lucky Charms only when you’re farming for Epic or Legendary seeds, since the boost is wasted on Common seeds.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the rarest seed in Greedy Growers?

The rarest standard seed is the Rainbow Berry, with a spawn chance of about 0.2% (1 in 500 drops). Event seeds like the Ghost Pepper are rarer because they only appear during their limited-time events, but they are not in the permanent pool.

Do Lucky Charms actually increase spawn chances?

Yes, but only for Rare, Epic, and Legendary seeds. A Lucky Charm multiplies those tier chances by roughly 1.5x, so a Legendary seed’s individual chance goes from 0.2% to about 0.3%. It does not affect Common or Uncommon seeds.

Can I get a Legendary seed from any activity?

No. Legendary seeds only drop from seed packs (bought with coins or gems) and from high-level farming plots (level 10 or above). They do not drop from low-level plots or from selling crops. Check the seed’s tooltip in-game to see its source.

Is there a pity system for rare seeds?

Some versions of the game have a pity counter that guarantees a Legendary seed after a certain number of drops without one (often around 300 drops). This counter is separate for packs and farming, and it resets when you get a Legendary. If your game doesn’t show a pity bar, it may not have this system.

How do event seeds work?

Event seeds are only available during their specific event (e.g., Halloween, Christmas). They have their own spawn chance (usually around 5%) that applies only during the event. After the event ends, they cannot be obtained, and any unplanted seeds remain in your inventory but cannot be replanted until the event returns.

Why did I get a Common seed from a Legendary pack?

Seed packs have a base chance for each tier, but they also have a “guaranteed minimum”—for example, a Legendary pack guarantees at least one Rare seed, but the rest are random. So you can still get Common seeds from a Legendary pack if the random roll lands on the Common tier for the other slots.
