100 Days at Sea Boss Spawn Steps & Rewards

This guide lists every boss in 100 Days at Sea, the exact spawn steps for each, and the rewards they drop. You trigger each boss by completing a specific number of days at sea, then sailing to the marked island and defeating the enemy to earn a unique blueprint or resource.

Formula

The game spawns a boss every 25 days. The current boss tier is floor(days / 25) + 1, and the days until the next boss is 25 - (days % 25). For example, at day 100 you are on boss tier 5, and the next boss appears at day 125.

Worked Example

If you have survived 100 days:

  • Boss tier = floor(100 / 25) + 1 = 4 + 1 = 5
  • Days until next boss = 25 – (100 % 25) = 25 – 0 = 0 (the boss is today)

So at day 100 you face the 5th boss, and the next one will appear at day 125.

Boss Spawn Steps (Day-by-Day)

Each boss appears on a specific day, and you must sail to the marked island to trigger the fight. The steps are the same for every boss:

  1. Survive to the required day (25, 50, 75, 100, 125, etc.).
  2. Open your map and look for the red skull icon on an island.
  3. Sail to that island and dock.
  4. Walk to the center of the island to trigger the boss fight.
  5. Defeat the boss to receive its reward.

Every Boss and Its Reward

Here is the full list of bosses in order, with the day they spawn and what they drop:

  • Day 25 – Giant Crab – Drops Crab Claw (used for a powerful melee weapon).
  • Day 50 – Giant Jellyfish – Drops Jellyfish Tentacle (crafts a whip that poisons enemies).
  • Day 75 – Giant Squid – Drops Squid Ink (used for a dark dye and a stealth potion).
  • Day 100 – Giant Shark – Drops Shark Tooth (crafts a dagger with lifesteal).
  • Day 125 – Giant Turtle – Drops Turtle Shell (crafts a shield that reflects damage).
  • Day 150 – Giant Octopus – Drops Octopus Tentacle (crafts a whip that slows enemies).
  • Day 175 – Giant Whale – Drops Whale Blubber (used for lantern fuel and a warm coat).
  • Day 200 – Kraken – Drops Kraken Eye (crafts a telescope that reveals all islands).

After day 200, the cycle repeats with stronger versions of the same bosses, each dropping the same item but with higher durability or effect.

How to Prepare for Each Boss

Boss fights require specific gear. Here is what to bring:

  • Weapon – A sword or spear with at least 20 damage. Upgrade it with the boss drops you already have.
  • Armor – Leather or iron armor. The higher the defense, the less damage you take.
  • Food – Cooked meat or fish to heal during the fight. Bring at least 5.
  • Bandages – Craft 3-4 bandages for emergency healing.
  • Shield – A wooden shield blocks 50% of damage, but a turtle shell shield is better.

Common Mistakes and Misconceptions

Many players think bosses spawn randomly, but they are always on the same day. Another mistake is sailing to the wrong island – the boss only appears on the island with the skull icon. Also, you do not need to defeat the boss immediately; you can leave and come back later, but the boss will not respawn if you die – you must reload the save.

One misconception is that the boss drops a blueprint. In fact, the drop is a material that you use to craft a unique item at a workbench. You need the blueprint from the previous boss to craft the next tier of gear.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do bosses respawn after I defeat them?

No, each boss spawns only once per save file. After you defeat it, the island becomes empty. If you want to fight again, you must start a new game or load a save before the fight.

What happens if I skip a boss?

You can skip a boss by not sailing to the island. The next boss will still appear on schedule, but you will miss the material from the skipped boss. This may make later fights harder because you lack the upgraded gear.

Can I fight the boss with a raft?

Yes, you can reach the island with a raft, but you will have no storage for loot. It is better to have a sailboat or larger vessel to carry the boss drop and any extra resources.

Is there a boss after day 200?

Yes, after day 200 the cycle repeats with stronger versions of the same bosses. They have more health and deal more damage, but drop the same materials. The game does not end; you can continue indefinitely.

Do boss drops have any other use?

Besides crafting unique weapons and armor, some boss materials can be sold to traders for a high price. However, it is usually better to craft the gear first, as it gives a significant combat advantage.

Can I get boss materials from fishing or treasure?

No, boss materials are exclusive to boss drops. You cannot find them in fishing loot, treasure chests, or shipwrecks. The only way to obtain them is by defeating the corresponding boss.
