Enshrouded 1.0 Bosses in Order, Locations & Rewards

This article lists every boss in Enshrouded 1.0 in the order you can fight them, tells you exactly where to find each one, and explains what each boss unlocks. The order follows the main quest progression, and the unlocks are mostly new crafting materials, gear recipes, and access to higher-tier crafting stations.

Boss Order Overview

Enshrouded’s 1.0 full release includes a main storyline that takes you through several distinct regions. The bosses are tied to the Flame strength system and the quests given by the NPCs you rescue. While you can technically explore anywhere, the intended order is roughly: the Vukah matron in Springlands, the Fell Wyvern in Revelwood, the Wispwyvern in Nomad Highlands, the Fell Dragon in Kindlewastes, and the final boss, the Dragon Queen, in the Albaneve Summits. Before the final fight, you also face the two optional mini-bosses that guard key items.

1. Vukah Matron – Springlands

The first real boss you encounter is the Vukah Matron, located in the Braelyn Bridge area of Springlands, inside a large cave called the Vukah Matron’s Lair. She is a large, mutated Vukah that uses poison attacks and summons adds. You will likely be around level 5-8 with a Flame level of 2 or 3.

What she unlocks: Defeating her drops the Vukah Matron’s Heart, which is required to craft the Grappling Hook at the Hunter’s workbench. The Grappling Hook is essential for reaching higher ledges and exploring vertical areas. She also drops the recipe for the Vukah Matron’s Staff, a decent early magic weapon.

2. Fell Wyvern – Revelwood

After you rescue the Hunter and the Alchemist, the main quest sends you to Revelwood. The Fell Wyvern is found in the Wyvern’s Nest, a large structure in the south-east of Revelwood, near the Ancient Spire. This is a flying boss that swoops down and creates poison clouds. You should be around level 10-12 with a Flame level of 4.

What it unlocks: The Fell Wyvern drops the Fell Wyvern’s Wing, which is used to craft the Glider at the Hunter’s workbench. The Glider is a major traversal upgrade that lets you glide across large gaps and descend safely. It also unlocks the recipe for the Fell Wyvern’s Bow, a powerful early-mid game bow.

3. Wispwyvern – Nomad Highlands

The Wispwyvern is the boss of the Nomad Highlands, found in the Wispwyvern’s Perch, a tall mountain peak in the northern part of the region. This is a spirit-type dragon that uses ice and wind attacks. You will likely be around level 15-18 with a Flame level of 5.

What it unlocks: It drops the Wispwyvern’s Soul, which is required to craft the Ring of the Wisp at the Alchemist’s lab. This ring grants a significant boost to magic damage. It also unlocks the recipe for the Wispwyvern’s Staff, a strong ice-element staff.

4. Fell Dragon – Kindlewastes

In the desert region of Kindlewastes, you will face the Fell Dragon, located in the Dragon’s Maw, a massive cave system in the south-west. This is a large, fire-breathing dragon that requires you to use the environment to avoid its attacks. You should be around level 20-23 with a Flame level of 6.

What it unlocks: The Fell Dragon drops the Fell Dragon’s Scale, which is used to craft the Dragon’s Breath spell at the Alchemist’s lab. This is a powerful fire spell that deals area damage. It also unlocks the recipe for the Fell Dragon’s Greatsword, a heavy two-handed weapon with fire damage.

5. Optional Mini-Bosses: The Fell Dragon’s Gatekeepers

Before reaching the final boss, you must defeat two optional mini-bosses that guard the path to the Albaneve Summits. These are the Fell Archon and the Fell Reaper.

  • Fell Archon – Found in the Archon’s Sanctum in the northern part of Kindlewastes. Drops the Archon’s Key, which opens the door to the final area.
  • Fell Reaper – Found in the Reaper’s Hollow in the south-east of the Nomad Highlands. Drops the Reaper’s Key, which is needed to access the final boss’s lair.

These mini-bosses are roughly level 24-25 and are not required for the main story if you have a high enough Flame level, but they are the intended path.

6. The Dragon Queen – Albaneve Summits

The final boss of Enshrouded 1.0 is the Dragon Queen, located in the Queen’s Lair at the top of the Albaneve Summits. This is a multi-phase fight where she uses ice, fire, and summons adds. You should be at max level (25) with a Flame level of 7 to have a fair chance.

What she unlocks: Defeating her drops the Dragon Queen’s Heart, which is used to craft the Dragon Queen’s Crown, a legendary helmet that provides the highest armor rating in the game. She also unlocks the recipe for the Dragon Queen’s Staff, a powerful legendary staff that deals both fire and ice damage. After you defeat her, the main story concludes, and you can continue playing in the open world with all the new gear.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to fight the bosses in this exact order?

No, you can technically skip ahead and fight them in any order if you have the gear and skill. However, the bosses are balanced for the levels and Flame levels mentioned, and the items they drop are often required to progress through the main quest. For example, you need the Grappling Hook from the Vukah Matron to reach certain areas in Revelwood.

What is the recommended level for each boss?

As a general guide: Vukah Matron (level 5-8), Fell Wyvern (level 10-12), Wispwyvern (level 15-18), Fell Dragon (level 20-23), and Dragon Queen (level 25). These are not hard requirements, but they reflect the intended progression curve.

Can I fight the Dragon Queen without killing the mini-bosses?

Yes, if you have a high enough Flame level (7) and can reach the Queen’s Lair without the keys, you can fight her directly. The keys are simply the intended way to gate the final area, but they are not strictly required if you can find another way through.

What happens after I beat the Dragon Queen?

After defeating the Dragon Queen, the main story ends, but you can continue playing in the open world. You keep all your gear and can continue building, exploring, and completing side quests. There is no new game plus, but you can still find all the remaining collectibles and achievements.

Are there any other bosses in the game?

Yes, there are several mini-bosses and elite enemies scattered across the world, such as the Vukah Chieftain and Fell Wraith. These are not tied to the main story but drop unique loot and crafting materials. They are usually found in caves or ruins.

Do I need to fight the bosses multiple times?

No, each boss only needs to be defeated once per world. Their drops are unique and you cannot get duplicates of the key items. However, you can re-fight them by resetting the area or starting a new world, but you will not get additional key items.
