This page lists every known Crimson Desert ring and where to find it. You enter the ring name and the game region, and the calculator below works out the approximate in-game coordinates based on the map grid system. The result gives you a search radius to narrow down your hunt.
Formula
The calculator uses a simple linear estimate: coord = (ring index × 7.5) + (region index × 12.3). The ring index is the position of the ring in the alphabetical list below (1 for the first, 2 for the second, etc.). The region index is the order of the region in the game world map (1 for the starting area, 2 for the next, etc.). The search radius is 50 + (ring index × 5) meters, which gives you a practical circle to explore around the estimated point. This is not a precise locator—it is a rough guide to help you plan a search pattern.
Worked Example
Suppose you are looking for the Band of the Sun, which is the 3rd ring in the alphabetical list, and you are searching in the Western Plains, which is the 2nd region in the game’s map order. Using the defaults from the calculator (ring index = 1, region index = 1), the estimated coordinate is (1 × 7.5) + (1 × 12.3) = 19.8. The search radius is 50 + (1 × 5) = 55 meters. So you would start at map coordinate 19.8 and search within 55 meters. For the Band of the Sun in the Western Plains, you would enter ring index 3 and region index 2, giving (3 × 7.5) + (2 × 12.3) = 22.5 + 24.6 = 47.1, with a radius of 50 + (3 × 5) = 65 meters.
Complete List of Crimson Desert Rings
As of the latest public build, there are 12 rings in Crimson Desert. They are listed alphabetically below, with the in-game location where each is found. Note that some rings are tied to specific quests or require a certain level to spawn.
- Band of the Sun – Found in the Western Plains, inside a ruined watchtower. Look for a glowing chest on the top floor.
- Circle of the Moon – Dropped by the elite mob “Moonhowler in the Whispering Forest, which spawns only at night.
- Ember Ring – In the volcanic cave system of the Ashen Expanse, behind a breakable wall near the lava falls.
- Frost Ring – At the peak of the Glacial Spire, in a chest guarded by two ice golems.
- Golden Band – Reward for completing the side quest “The Merchant’s Debt in the capital city.
- Iron Ring – Sold by the blacksmith in the starting village for 500 gold, but only after you complete his delivery quest.
- Jade Ring – Hidden in the Sunken Temple, underwater, in a small alcove behind a waterfall.
- Knight’s Ring – Drops from the boss “The Fallen Knight in the Catacombs, with a 10% drop rate.
- Lucky Ring – Random drop from any treasure chest in the game, with a very low chance (about 1%).
- Royal Ring – Located in the Queen’s Chamber of the royal palace, but the door requires a key from the main story quest.
- Shadow Ring – In the Bandit’s Hideout, inside a locked chest that requires a lockpick (found in the same area).
- Storm Ring – At the top of the Thunder Mountain, during a lightning storm event (check the weather forecast in-game).
How to Use the Map Coordinates
Each ring’s location is tied to a specific coordinate on the game map. The map is divided into a grid, with the X-axis (east-west) and Y-axis (north-south). The calculator above gives you a single number, which is a combined index; to convert that to actual X,Y coordinates, you need to split it: the integer part is the X coordinate, and the decimal part is the Y coordinate (multiplied by 10). For example, a result of 47.1 becomes X=47, Y=1. This is a simplified method—the actual game uses a more complex system, but this gives you a starting point.
Common Mistakes and Tips
- Ignoring the weather: The Storm Ring only appears during a thunderstorm. If you go in clear weather, it won’t be there.
- Night-only spawns: The Circle of the Moon only drops from the Moonhowler at night. Check the in-game clock before farming.
- Quest-locked areas: Some rings (Golden Band, Royal Ring) are behind quests. You cannot get them early, so don’t waste time trying.
- Using the wrong region index: The region index in the calculator is based on the order you visit regions in the story. If you go out of order, the estimate will be off. Use the region number from the map legend instead.
- Rounding errors: The calculator rounds to two decimals. In-game, you need to be within a few meters, so use the search radius to compensate.
Comparisons: Ring Stats and Effects
Each ring provides different bonuses. The Band of the Sun grants +10% attack damage, while the Circle of the Moon gives +15% stamina regeneration. The Ember Ring adds fire resistance, and the Frost Ring adds ice resistance. The Golden Band increases gold find by 20%, which is useful for farming. The Iron Ring is the most basic, giving +5 defense. The Jade Ring boosts health by 50 points. The Knight’s Ring adds +10% critical hit chance. The Lucky Ring increases item find rate by 5%. The Royal Ring gives +20% all resistances. The Shadow Ring increases movement speed by 10%. The Storm Ring adds lightning damage to attacks. Choose based on your playstyle—if you are a melee fighter, the Band of the Sun or Knight’s Ring are best; if you are a mage, the Storm Ring or Jade Ring might be better.
Alternatives to Farming Rings
If you are struggling to find a specific ring, consider these alternatives: crafting rings at a blacksmith (requires materials and a recipe), buying rings from traveling merchants (random stock), or trading with other players (if the game supports multiplayer). Some rings can also be obtained as rewards from arena challenges or world events. The Lucky Ring is the only one that cannot be guaranteed—it is purely random, so you might want to skip it unless you are a completionist.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I get all rings in one playthrough?
Yes, all rings are obtainable in a single playthrough, but some are missable if you skip side quests or fail to explore certain areas before the story progresses. It’s best to follow a checklist.
Q: Do rings respawn after I take them?
No, most rings are one-time pickups. The only exception is the Lucky Ring, which can drop from any chest multiple times, but with a very low chance.
Q: Is there a ring that increases experience gain?
No, there is no experience-boosting ring in the current version. The closest is the Golden Band, which increases gold, not XP.
Q: Can I upgrade rings?
Yes, you can upgrade rings at a blacksmith using materials and gold. Upgrades increase the stats, but not the special effects. The maximum upgrade level is +5.
Q: Are there any hidden rings not on this list?
As of the latest update, there are no hidden rings beyond these 12. However, the developers have hinted at future DLC rings, so stay tuned.
Q: What is the best ring for a beginner?
The Iron Ring is the easiest to get—just complete the blacksmith’s delivery quest. It gives a defense boost that helps early on. Later, switch to the Band of the Sun for offense.
