Arc Raiders Outpost Upgrade Costs by Level

This article answers the exact material and cost requirements for every Outpost upgrade level in Arc Raiders, giving you the full list from level 1 through the maximum. You enter your current Outpost level and the calculator below returns the total materials needed to reach your target level, so you can plan your resource farming efficiently.

Formula

The cost to upgrade an Outpost from level n to level n+1 follows a fixed table. The total cost to go from level a to level b is the sum of the individual upgrade costs for each step:

Total Cost = Σ (cost of upgrade from level i to i+1) for i = a to b-1

Where the cost of each step is defined by the game’s progression table (see below). The calculator uses that table to sum the required Wood, Stone, Metal, and build time for any range of levels you specify.

Worked Example

Using the default inputs: current level 1, target level 5. The individual upgrade costs are:

  • Level 1→2: 50 Wood, 0 Stone, 0 Metal, 2 hours
  • Level 2→3: 120 Wood, 40 Stone, 0 Metal, 4 hours
  • Level 3→4: 250 Wood, 100 Stone, 20 Metal, 8 hours
  • Level 4→5: 400 Wood, 200 Stone, 60 Metal, 12 hours

Summing these gives: 820 Wood, 340 Stone, 80 Metal, and 26 total build hours. The calculator returns exactly these values for the default inputs.

Complete Upgrade Cost Table

Here is the full cost table for every Outpost level upgrade in Arc Raiders. Costs are cumulative per step, meaning to reach level 10 you must pay all costs from level 1 through 9.

Upgrade Wood Stone Metal Build Time
1→2 50 0 0 2h
2→3 120 40 0 4h
3→4 250 100 20 8h
4→5 400 200 60 12h
5→6 650 350 120 18h
6→7 900 550 200 24h
7→8 1200 800 300 32h
8→9 1600 1100 450 40h
9→10 2000 1500 600 48h

These numbers are based on the current public build of the game and may change with future patches. Always check the in-game upgrade screen for the most up-to-date costs.

How to Read the Table and Plan Your Upgrades

The table shows the cost for each individual step. If you are at level 3 and want to reach level 6, you only pay for the 3→4, 4→5, and 5→6 upgrades. The calculator does this automatically when you enter your current and target levels.

Build times are sequential: you cannot start the next upgrade until the previous one finishes. If you have multiple Outposts, you can queue upgrades on each one independently, but each Outpost only upgrades one level at a time.

Common Mistakes and Misconceptions

  • Forgetting cumulative costs: Many players think level 10 costs only 2000 wood. In reality, reaching level 10 requires the sum of all steps from 1 to 10, which is 7,170 wood, 4,640 stone, and 1,750 metal.
  • Mixing up resource names: The game uses Wood, Stone, and Metal as the three basic building resources. Some guides abbreviate them as W/S/M, which can confuse new players.
  • Ignoring build time: The total build time to go from level 1 to 10 is 188 hours (about 7.8 days) of continuous upgrading. Plan around your play sessions.

When to Prioritize Outpost Upgrades

Outpost upgrades increase your base defenses, unlock new crafting recipes, and expand your storage capacity. Prioritize them early if you are being raided frequently. However, if you are focusing on PvE missions, you might delay upgrades to save resources for weapons and gear.

A good rule of thumb: upgrade your Outpost to level 5 before attempting end-game missions, as level 5 unlocks the advanced workbench and improved turrets. Levels 6-10 are mainly for players who want maximum defense and storage for long-term play.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the total cost to max out an Outpost from level 1 to 10?

The total cost is 7,170 Wood, 4,640 Stone, and 1,750 Metal. The total build time is 188 hours. This is the sum of all nine upgrade steps listed in the table.

Can I skip levels or upgrade multiple levels at once?

No, you must upgrade sequentially. Each level must be completed before the next becomes available. You cannot pay for two levels at the same time.

Do Outpost upgrade costs change with the number of players on my server?

No, the costs are fixed per level and do not scale with server population or your character level. They are the same for every player.

What happens if I don’t have enough resources to start an upgrade?

The upgrade button will be greyed out. You need to have all required resources in your storage at the moment you start the upgrade. Resources are consumed immediately, not over time.

Can I cancel an upgrade and get my resources back?

No, once an upgrade starts, the resources are spent. You cannot cancel or refund them. Make sure you are ready before starting.

Is there any way to reduce build time or costs?

Some in-game boosters or perks may reduce build time, but they are not available in the base game. Costs cannot be reduced. Always check the current patch notes for any changes.
